HERE TO STAY

Your Lewisham Shopping Centre has been part of everyday life for almost 50 years.

Now we’re investing in its future. The centre will be renewed piece by piece, bringing new places to shop, eat and meet, alongside new homes, public spaces and a park above a refreshed shopping centre.

Things to love:

• A new public park above the shopping centre
• New streets and public squares
• More places to eat and drink
• A permanent home for Model Market
• A not-for-profit music venue
• New homes for rent, including affordable homes

And your Lewisham Shopping Centre will remain open throughout.

OPEN FOR BUSINESS
Lewisham Shopping Centre isn’t closing. It will be renewed section by section. Stores you love will move within the centre as work progresses — like Boots, relocating to a larger, better space in the former Wilko unit. Exciting new names are arriving including Tressly, Sports Direct and the return of the legendary Model Market. Many familiar brands are staying, including Card Factory, Superdrug, Poundland, The Works and Vodafone. When complete, the centre will be no smaller than today but with so much more to do.
SHAPED BY THOUSANDS OF LOCALS WITH MORE SUPPORT THAN ANY MAJOR PROJECT IN FOUR YEARS
Here since 1977. Here to Stay.
SHAPED BY LEWISHAM
The plans were shaped by thousands of local people. Residents, traders and visitors helped develop the proposals by: • Attending consultation events • Visiting our consultation 'shop' at No.25 • Taking part in lots of workshops • Sharing feedback online The planning application received more letters of support than any major Lewisham application in the previous four years combined. And 95% of those letters came from Lewisham residents. Thank you to everyone who took part.

LEWISHAM MARKET IMPROVEMENTS
Lewisham Market is one of the most loved parts of the town centre and it isn’t going anywhere. Lewisham Council is investing £24 million to improve the market and surrounding streets. When complete, traders will benefit from: • More residents living nearby • More visitors to the town centre • Better public spaces around the market Lewisham Market will remain a central part of the town centre.

AFFORDABLE HOMES
One of the biggest issues facing London today is a lack of homes. These plans bring 344 affordable homes for rent, owned and managed long-term by the developer and owner of the shopping centre, Landsec. This includes social rent and discounted homes for local key workers, all funded privately.

GETTING ON SITE
It might not look like it but work is already underway preparing the centre for the first phase of redevelopment. The first stage will involve carefully removing parts of the original 1970s structure. It can take time but we’ll keep everyone updated along the way.
